There’s loads for children and younger visitors to discover about Vincent van Gogh. Delve into his work and extraordinary life together. During the Autumn break (16-24 October), we have a packed program especially for (grand)parents and their (grand)children.
What about drawing in the galleries? Grab your chance during the Family Days from 10 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 4 pm. Or ask for one of our six (!) Treasure Hunts to explore Vincent’s paintings, available in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
And don’t forget to visit the temporary exhibition The Potato Eaters. Mistake or Masterpiece?. There is a wide-ranging programme of activities aimed especially at families with children aged four to seventeen. Make a peasant self-portrait at one of the drawing tables or step into the painting. In the setting of a life-size reconstruction, you will get to experience the famous painting in a different way.
Kick off your visit at the Family Desk for more information and tips. The desk is located close to Vincent’s self-portraits: where many begin their museum visit.
Book your ticket with start time online. Please note, if you have a Museumkaart, VriendenLoterij VIP-KAART or Amsterdam Stadspas, you also need to book a ticket online (for free). Your (grand)children aged under 18 also need a free ticket with a start time.
