Exhibition Van Gogh and the Roulins. Together Again at Last
Discover the remarkable friendship between Vincent van Gogh and postman Joseph Roulin and his family. The exhibition has a lot to see and do for the whole family!
Wondering what to do with your family during the Christmas holidays? Come along and have a great time together at the Van Gogh Museum! Did you know that admission for those under 18 is always free?
During the school holidays, there's always a wide range of extra fun activities at the museum for the whole family. Enjoy a packed programme for all ages during the Christmas holidays, from 20 December 2025 until 4 January 2026.
Unleash your creativity in the drawing workshops, or draw your own masterpieces in the galleries. On Monday morning, you and your children can join a 30-minute yoga session. Go on a treasure hunt any day you like, or explore Van Gogh's famous paintings together in the permanen collection and the exhibition Van Gogh and the Roulins.
Kick off your visit at the Family Desk for more information and tips. The desk is located close to Vincent’s self-portraits: where many begin their museum visit.
Book your ticket with start time online. Please note, if you have a Museumkaart, VriendenLoterij VIP-KAART or Amsterdam Stadspas, you also need to book a ticket online (for free). Your (grand)children aged under 18 also need a free ticket with a start time.
Please note: The holiday programme is available from 20 December 2025 until 4 January 2026, except for 25 and 26 December, and 1 January. The activities are subject to availability. An activity may be cancelled or rescheduled. We ask for your understanding. Please check the current programme at the Family Desk in the museum.
