The head office is located a stone's throw from the museum, at 8 Gabriel Metsustraat in Amsterdam. The building is a former housekeeping school from 1907, which is now a municipal monument. After an extensive renovation in 2018, it was turned into an office building with an archive and library function.
The museum office is part of the Van Gogh Museum, located at the Museum Square in Amsterdam. The architecture of the Van Gogh Museum has a rich history. The main building was designed by Gerrit Rietveld and opened in 1973. In 1999, the exhibition wing was completed, by the architect Kisho Kurokawa. The glass entrance building opened to the public on 5 September, 2015.
