Van Gogh Museum Acquires Two Remarkable Pastels
The Van Gogh Museum has added two impressive pastels to its collection of works on paper: Avenue de Clichy, Five O'Clock in the Evening (1887) by Louis Anquetin (1861–1932) and Lake Como (1897) by William Degouve de Nuncques (1867–1935).

Closure Van Gogh Museum on 12 October Due to Demonstration ‘Nederland in Opstand’
This Sunday, 12 October 2025, the ‘Nederland in Opstand’ demonstration will take place in Amsterdam. The protest, directed in part against immigration, will begin at 1 pm at Museum Square. A march is planned from 2:30 to 4 pm, ending again at Museum Square.

Closure of the Van Gogh Museum Due to Red Line Demonstration – 5 October
This Sunday, 5 October 2025, the ‘Rode Lijn’ / Red Line demonstration will take place in Amsterdam, following two earlier demonstrations in The Hague. The Red Line demonstrations are intended to call on the Dutch government to take concrete action against the genocide in Gaza. Participants, dressed in red, will walk through the city to form a symbolic ‘red line.’ The route begins at Museum Square at 1 PM.

Ron Teerlink New Chairman of the Supervisory Board Van Gogh Museum
The Supervisory Board of the Van Gogh Museum has appointed Ron Teerlink as its new Chair as of 1 October 2025. Teerlink succeeds Jacobina Brinkman, whose second term expired this year. The role was then temporarily filled by Hendrik Jan Roel.

Van Gogh Museum’s Future in Doubt
