The collection
The ivory-hued pages in the Moleskine x Van Gogh Museum notebooks are a space for dormant inspiration and ideas to take seed and blossom. The covers of the notebooks zoom in on van Gogh's brushstrokes, that are so unique to him, in a selection of his most beloved paintings: Sunflowers (1889), Irises (1890) and Almond Blossom (1890).
Vincent van Gogh didn't come to understand his artistic vocation and path until the was 27 years old. Vincent had many different jobs before he decided to become an artist, encouraged by his younger brother Theo. Nothing stopped him from improving his skills as an artist. The collaboration between Moleskine and the Van Gogh Museum challenges everyone to search for your own uniqueness and shine a light on your creative verve, just like Vincent did.
‘The creative power can't be held back, what one feels must come out’
Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo, 3 June 1883
