During this interactive and in-depth tour a museum docent will discuss with the students the life and work of Vincent van Gogh in the context of the late 19th century. The programme can also be extended with a workshop.
The students will be guided by a museum docent. They will learn to look critically at the work of Vincent van Gogh, and place it in the context of the time in which he lived.
Visual analysis of his painting technique, style and use of colour will be covered in a range of assignments. The students will discover why Vincent’s work was so important. Besides considering his art and that of his contemporaries, we will also delve deeper into Vincent’s life.
During this interactive tour with an additional art workshop, the students and a Van Gogh Museum docent will discuss the life and work of Vincent van Gogh in the context of the late 19th century.
Keep in mind that during this workshop, students will work with various materials. They will be provided with a painting apron, but please keep in mind that clothing can get dirty.
Schools from outside of the Netherlands are required to pay online at the time of reservation. Dutch schools pay by invoice following the visit.
