Here it is at last! Edvard Munch’s 'The Scream' (1893) in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam!
From 25 September onward, the Van Gogh Museum will present the long-awaited Munch : Van Gogh exhibition that will for the first time in history bring together a great many works by both Vincent van Gogh and Edvard Munch. The exhibition focuses on the similarities between the works of both artists that have been a source of inspiration for millions of people until this very day.
More than 100 artworks - circa 80 paintings and 30 works on paper – will be exhibited. Iconic masterpieces from all over the world, rarely ever made available on loan – such as Munch’s The Scream and Van Gogh’s Starry Night over the Rhône – are included in the very first exhibition in the reopened exhibition wing of the museum.
