- Given by the artist to Marguerite Clémentine Gachet, Auvers-sur-Oise, 1911; after her death in 1949 probably inherited by her brother, Paul Gachet (fils), Auvers-sur-Oise; probably purchased after his death on 29 April 1962 from his estate by Galerie Valentien, Stuttgart; sold by Galerie Valentien to the Vincent van Gogh Foundation, Amsterdam, 1966; on permanent loan to the Rijksmuseum Vincent van Gogh from the opening of the museum on 2 June 1973, and at the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, since 1 July 1994.
