About Van Gogh Connects
Learning to reach youths with a bicultural background.
Everyone is welcome in our organization and it is important to us that everyone feels at home.
We are an organization for everyone and we embrace the greatest variety of people. It should not matter in this regard what your name is, what you look like, where you come from, who you love and/or what you believe in.
We aim with this definition to be an inclusive employer, so as to contribute to a more successful, relevant and creative museum.
The Van Gogh Connects and Inclusive Employment programmes run in parallel. They are based on a similar iterative process of activities, workshops and impact research. We learn from the results, adjust activities in response, re-examine the impact, learn from the results, and so on.
In this way, we are learning to make inclusiveness a more self-evident part of the organization.
We have set ourselves three objectives:
Activities have been linked to the adopted objectives. The objectives and activities are being adjusted in response to the impact measurements. Since the process began, a baseline measurement was performed to gauge staff demographics and attitudes towards an inclusive climate. The baseline measurement became the starting point for the first objectives and activities to be defined.
A follow-up measurement was carried out after 18 months to determine where we were after all the active attention paid to the subject. We detected a significant positive improvement in the perception of a climate on inclusiveness and a more diverse workforce. This enabled us to fine-tune the objectives and activities for the coming period.
The most important results can be found in the infographic below, with the deployment of ‘Verbinders’ (Connectors) being perceived as one of the most effective activities. A third measurement will follow in the autumn of 2021.
