A collaboration bringing together craftsmanship, creativity and self-expression in an homage to Vincent van Gogh and the Van Gogh Museum, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023.

With the Masters of Art Homage to Vincent van Gogh collection, Montblanc pays tribute to Vincent van Gogh. For this first edition, Montblanc worked closely with the Van Gogh Museum; the museum’s knowledge and expertise regarding Van Gogh’s life and work served as an important source of inspiration for the designs.
The collection features five limited-edition writing implements, complemented by writing accessories, ink and cufflinks. References to Van Gogh’s oeuvre have been meticulously incorporated into the materials, colours and finishes, from enamel and engraving to relief work on the nibs. Sun-drenched landscapes, wheatfields, deep-blue tones and expressive brushstrokes evoke Van Gogh’s visual language and way of working.
The collection draws on various phases of Van Gogh’s oeuvre. Artworks such as Sunflowers, Wheatfield with Crows, Almond Blossom, Tree Roots, The Harvest, Wheatfield with Cypresses, Wheatfield with a Reaper and his self-portraits inspired the colours, forms and finishes. Van Gogh’s letters also play a role, bringing the collection closer to the artist’s ideas, imagination and artistry.
