Visit the reading room in the Van Gogh Museum library for free and without prior appointment. The library is located on Gabriël Metsustraat 8 in Amsterdam.
You are welcome to view the extensive collection of books, magazines and documentation in the museum’s reading room.
The library is home to in excess of 35,000 books and articles and it also subscribes to more than 40 magazines and auction catalogues. The library acquires around 1,000 new publications every year.

The museum library is located at Gabriël Metsustraat 8, right at the Museumplein.

Opening hours
Monday to Friday: 10 am-12:30 pm and 1:30-5 pm.
The library is closed on the following days:
- Easter Monday
- King’s Day (27 April)
- Liberation Day (5 May)
- Ascension Day
- Whit Monday
- 24 December until 1 January
