Which other exhibitions are planned in the Van Gogh Museum in 2022?
Marcel van Eeden
16 September until 11 December 2022
Artist Marcel van Eeden (The Hague, 1965) is a great admirer of Vincent van Gogh. For this presentation, he takes only one work by Van Gogh as the starting point for his charcoal drawings: the drawing Gasworks, created in The Hague in March 1882.
Van Gogh's drawing is a logical choice for Van Eeden: his native The Hague plays an important role in his work. His apartment is also close to the original location of the now demolished gas factory.
7 October 2022 until 8 January 2023
This autumn, the Van Gogh Museum presents the exhibition Golden Boy Gustav Klimt. Inspired by Van Gogh, Rodin, Matisse... about the artist Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) and his many sources of inspiration.
From new research we know which artists influenced Klimt, which artists he loved, and which works of art he could have seen in exhibitions in, for example, the artists' association the Secession.
This unique exhibition showcases Klimt's work alongside paintings by his favourite artists, such as Van Gogh, Rodin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Monet, and Matisse.
A collaboration with the Belvedere in Vienna.
