What are the latest developments in art preparation? How do you build a sustainable storage facility? These and other questions were addressed during the 2019 PACCIN Preparators Conference.
PACCIN (Preparation, Art handling and Collections Care Information Network) is a biennial conference. In 2019, PACCIN was held in Europe: at the Stedelijk Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. The conference took place from 11 to 13 April 2019.
This years conference was centered on the profession of collection care. Experts and researchers have presented and discussed innovative approaches with regard to art handling and methods to further professionalize the field.
The conference offered a keynote, panel discussions, shorter presentations and case studies. Topics included new forms of collaboration, innovation and sustainability in the field. Preceding the conference, on April 11th, there was a day filled with excursions to several depots in the Netherlands. There was time to exchange thoughts about urgent topics such as; working together in a changing field of professionals and sustainable practical solutions.
PACCIN (Preparation, Art handling and Collections Information Network) is dedicated to building a network for all who deals with collection care in one way or another.
