Clarisa Pesqueira asks whether Vincent owned works by other artists. Have a look at the answer.
Vincent and Theo worked together to compile their art collection. Vincent obviously didn’t have a lot of money to invest, and therefore mainly purchased prints. Alongside Japanese prints, he collected woodcuts and engravings that appeared as illustrations in magazines.
Vincent also swapped paintings with fellow artists he knew, including Bernard and Gauguin. Theo was an art dealer and every now and then, bought work by artists he was familiar with, such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Gauguin and Bernard.
The Van Gogh brothers’ art collection is on display at our museum.
