Van Gogh and his love of nature is a special source of inspiration for Jean-Luc Mylayne (1946). Like Van Gogh, in his work he wants to express the connection he feels with nature. Three singular photographic works are on view until 14 February 2021.
Jean-Luc Mylayne (1946) has been making images of landscapes featuring a bird for more than 40 years. In these artworks everything revolves around the balance between nature, the artist and the animal.
Together with his wife Mylène, he patiently takes weeks or sometimes months to select the right framing and win the bird's trust. With the aid of custom-made lenses, Mylayne deliberately sharply defines, blurs, or even distorts parts of the image.
Van Gogh and his love of nature are a special source of inspiration for Mylayne. The artist chose three works specially for this presentation in the Van Gogh Museum. Each photograph is a unique impression.
