During the renovations, the entrance area was completely altered and enlarged. This was necessary to be able to deal with the ever-growing numbers of visitors.

They now enter through a service area with a cloakroom, a shop and toilets. All of these facilities are now larger than they were and more spacious. Only beyond this area do visitors enter the central hall, where they can get their bearings and decide on a route - to the permanent collection in the main building or to an exhibition in the new wing.
