The documentary A life dedicated to art will be continually shown at the presentation. This unique film portrays Vincent van Gogh as an artist and an individual, from his childhood in Brabant, through his troubled years of learning his trade in Nuenen and his growing maturity as an artist in Paris, to the enervating culmination of his career in southern France. Experts describe Vincent’s sources of inspiration and reveal his struggles to evolve into a truly modern artist.
Every Thursday you may present your admission ticket to take a free introductory tour of Vincent. The Van Gogh Museum in the Hermitage Amsterdam (lasts around 50 minutes). Maximum 15 people per tour, sign up on the day at the information desk. Tour in Dutch starts at 2 pm, tour in English starts at 3:15 pm.
Saturday lectures (in Dutch only)
Every last Saturday of the month at 2 pm in the auditorium (lasts around 45 minutes). Entrance free for museum visitors. Auditorium opens from 1.30 pm. Reservation not required. See full programme.
