Film still 'La Terre'

EYE Vondelpark will screen silent film La Terre on Sunday 12 December at 16:15.

La Terre is based on the naturalistic novel by Emile Zola about greed, jealousy and betrayal within a French farmer’s family. In his film debut, the 63-year old experienced theatre director André Antoine (1858 - 1943) left the studios behind and filmed outdoors in the country to capture the realism he could not achieve indoors.

French title screens. English subtitles.
With live music by Martin de Ruiter (accordion), Mariël van den Bos (flute) and Annie Tangberg (cello).

Location: EYE Film Institute, Vondelpark
Date: 12 December 2010, 16:15.
Admission: € 10,80.
