What is there to see and do in the neighbourhood?

The Van Gogh Museum is in Amsterdam’s Oud Zuid (Old South) district, known for its wide avenues lined with tall buildings, its Art Nouveau façades, its restaurants and its fashionable shopping streets. Three other cultural highlights share the Museumplein with the Van Gogh Museum: the Rijksmuseum, the Concertgebouw, and the Stedelijk Museum. The large, park-like square is an ideal spot to have lunch, enjoy a drink, or sit and watch the world go by.
